Hong Kong: Mass protests turn violent but China says story is 'distorted' - BBC Newsnight, The extradition bill itself is no problem. The problem is a lack of trust in China from Hong Kong citizens. The root problem is Emperor Xi's iron grip over China and its citizens and a lack of democracy, constitutionalism, and human rights in China. Suppose China is a democratic country with a solemn constitution protecting fundamental human rights, then this bill would not have been an issue in the first place.
